In round #2 this week @ TPC Avenel 08 I shot a –9, it has given me a score of 65. My question is: Is this due to the formula that I have seen posted for handicaps: ((((YAS + YASC / 2) + YASS)/2) - (((EAS + EASC / 2) + EASS)/2)) = X(((X + TTS)/YR) - (ETT/TR)) = HCP, is it possible that one of the ‘variables’ has, somehow in cyber-form, Added a ‘2’ to my score as opposed to being divided by the ‘2’ and then multiplied by the ‘invariable’ X factor to arrive at the correct score of 63?
I do like the handicap system but I feel the method of using all the EASO scores is a bit unfair as it does not represent a true picture. I play all my EASO games from the Pro tees and in this Tour, I play Intermediate and shoot from the middle/back tees. I’m not sure how you can use the EASO scores from the back tees and apply a handicap from the middle tees. My scores are much better here and I feel my handicap is not represented by them, if it was, I would have a –8/-9 handicap. This is not a complaint (people would think I am crazy to complain about getting strokes, this is a question that I’m sure other players have thought of as well. Thanx.. e |

Hi Ed....
I believe Easo added wrong score on scorecard....it is a par 71 course.
You will see all players played par 71....only your score is wrong.
-9 is correct but 65 should be: 62
It is not the first time this happens, it is Easo problem. I have no access to CDT tour data, so we will have to wait for RObkh.

| Ed that formula is not the actual formula, I created that off the top of my head. The forumls takes into effect all variables, including the tees your playing at. ROb is working on a new formula that puts more weight on your tour scores. |

| You mean to tell me that ((((YAS + YASC / 2) + YASS)/2) - (((EAS + EASC / 2) + EASS)/2)) = X(((X + TTS)/YR) - (ETT/TR)) = HCP does not mean: Your Actual Score plus Your Actual Score Count divided by 2 plus Your Actual Scored Shots divided by 2 minus Each Actual Shot plus Each Actual Shot Count divided by 2 plus Each Actual Scoring Shot divided by 2 equals eXactly the eXact plus Time Takes Shot divided by Yardage Reached minus Estimated Time Taken divided by Time Recorded equal His/Hers Complete Phinish…. NO Wonder my score was wrong! I don’t know how to spell PHINSHED.. sok.. I tied for 1st.. hahaha… Thx Kevin :) |
