I recently added a new wide-screen 19 LG W1952TG LCD monitor and an nVIDIA 8600GT 512mb video card to my computer system. The native resolution for the monitor is 1440x900. However, when running TW08 the picture is stretched in order to fit on the wide screen monitor. When I go into TW08 Options/Video to change my screen resolution, it only gives me 2 options, either 800x600 or 1024x768. I used to have more resolution options to choose from. What happened to them? How do I get them back? I tried reloading TW08 to no avail. Anyone know how to solve this problem?

It dosent recognize that resolution it never has so you have to use the widescreen fix to make it work you can find all about it by reading this thread

Thank you, vexxxboy, for telling me about that link. it was very helpful.
I decided to upsize my monitor to a 22 because the 19 seemed just a tad too small. The 22 inchers native resolution is 1680x1050.
I have learned that Tiger Woods 08 supports only 4 resolutions 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024 and 1680x1050. I am uncertain as to why I was showing only the first 2 choices in the Options/Video settings. However, I setup my new monitor and set it to 1680x1050 and reinstalled TW08 on my computer and when I ran the program got to the video settings and had all 4 screen resolutions available to chose from. I picked 1680x1050, of course, and the screen still looks a little stretched on all the menus. However, once I get into a game and actually get on a course, the screen looks almost normal, very little stretch.
If you are going to re-install TW08, be aware that you will lose any players you have created and any custom courses you have downloaded unless you back them up. |
