Hey all, Ive played my first tour with an even handicap. Im trying to figure what I would have to shoot in order to move up the board. I noticed the winner (congratulations!) shot 232 for the 4 rounds and ended up moving from -52 to -72 with a +5 handicap. I shot 238 at even giving me -46. What am I missing here? Would I have more success as an Int. player? Am I going to have to play in the low 40s to get anywhere as a novice? Uh it does cost 400 tokens! Id like to continue playing without hanging around like a dirty ol hack in the match-up area all day :\

If this is your first ever tournament on easo then you will suffer with your handicap for a short while, if its not then your handicap suggests you could or have played lower scores in the past, alternatively if you find it a struggle in the advanced level then a change to intermediate would be recommended.

Robkh, Thanks for the reply. My handicap came from about 10 previous tourneys at EASO. I played novice and signed on here as novice. I have not played adv. level except one mistake +38 and I suck at Int. level also. I still consider myself mediocre and learning at novice level. The questions all still remain, i.e., having to shoot in the 40s as a novice with an E HCP ,or getting a new handicap designation and seeing a major conversion of my round scores at the Int. level. I hope I am being clear. If not, look at the Arnold Palmer Tourney (novice)I play as EaglePlayer564 with repect to what I would have to shoot to move up. I may be mistaken as to what would happen to my handicap at Int. level.

Got ya now, I thought when you suggested playing at int level then you must have been at Adv level. If you are at novice and have only 10 tournaments played then you will get better the more you play, the handicap system is designed so that players relatively new to the tournament play on easo are not given an unfair advantage for this reason, also your handicap will swing more in your favour once the system has enough data to calculate your true scoring capabilities.
