I think it might be fun to see what everyones local course is it would be great if you could include a link to the course website. What makes it fun?
I will pick one of the courses to design for TW. Criteria: interesting layout (lots of water or elevation changes), challenging course (championship length), plenty of information to work with (pictures and yardage book, if possible).
My local course is Waverly Oaks in Plymouth, MA great views of Cape Cod Bay and a challenging course.

Situated in the Kananaskis Valley among boreal forest, the Mount Lorette and Mount Kidd Courses are named for the soaring limestone peaks that serve as their breathtaking backdrop. The Courses offer immaculate lush fairways, bent grass greens, over 140 silica sand bunkers, four sets of tee boxes, glacier fed creeks and ponds, the cascading Kananaskis River and a variety of wildlife.
just one of the most amazing set of courses, even bad shots look good (trust me on that one)
id be happy to take pics for the pano :) |

Mine is Ghost Creek at Pumpkin Ridge. I have already done that course, and EA has done the sister course, Witch Hollow at Pumpkin Ridge, which is members only. I would love for someone else somewhere down the line, to remake Ghost Creek, since I dont think any of my versions do it justice. This goes for any designers out there who might want to give it a shot. It is a fantastic course with lots of available data. And I have personal knowledge of it as well (not that it did me any good, lol).

I would have to consider the Quail Hollow Club, in Charlotte, as my home course. Although I live 50 miles away, its a stop on the PGA tour. The Wachovia Championship is played there the first week in May. Tiger is the defending champion this year. A fantastic, traditional style course. What you see is what you get. US Open, PGA Championship worthy type of course. The last 3 holes at Quail rank in the top 5 on tour as the 3 toughest finishing holes on tour. Cant wait for Tiger to defend!
Tiger Woods on Quail Hollow:
Tiger Woods, 2007 Champion Over the course of my career, Ive won a few tournaments here and there, and its been nice, Woods said. This one, considering the field and the golf course and the conditions, I am ecstatic to have won here.

my favourite local course id Rochford Hundred which is in Rochford, Essex, UK.
Welcome to Rochford Hundred Golf Club
Few golf clubs can claim to have their home in a building which as a Hall began life around 1480, no other can boast that Queen Anne of Henry VIII fame was accused of having incest within its precincts before she lost her head and there is no record of any other golfers finding a sack of primed World War Two Mills Bombs in their midst when recapturing their premises from the RAF and Army at the end of hostilities.
Rochford Hundred Golf Club is definitely unique.
The term hundred was an area to raise 100 men in case of strife, but this is not the complete definition. In King Edgars reign in 973, areas of land were divided into hundreds consisting of possibly several villages controlled by 100 men. In Norman Conquest times, the deion was regularised. Essex had several hundreds with Rochford - listed in the Domesday Book - being the largest. And hundred was used for centuries before being replaced by union and later by council.
In 1896 the club moved from Southchurch to the meadows of Rochford Hall. In 1924 James Braid and J.H.Taylor, together with the renowned golf course architect Frederick Hawtree were invited to redesign the course. Additional land was obtained raising the acreage to 98 and the result is largely the course we play today - 6,300 yards from the white tees compared with the previous 4,010 yards.
As you can see it has quite a bit of history attached to it

My home course is Lighthouse SOund in Ocean City Maryland. Lots of water and built around a wetlands area with a view of the city on many holes

Is there any way to get hold of the course designer? I think it would be fun to try but I hae the 07 game and of course its not included. |

Keep em coming ... there are some great courses here.
My other local course is Charter Oak Country Club my brother is a member there. Gorgeous upscale course with lots of elevation changes.

Incidently, the 9th hole with the double fairway was the inspiration for the 3rd hole on Sakurajima. |

Another one of my favorites here. Rum Pointe is set on the Assowomman Bay. Across from the course is Assateague Island, a national park. This course plays differently depending on the wind. Beautiful vistas www.rumpointe.com |
