Hi, I know theres several threads about online play issues,but i cant say ive seen one with exactly the same problem as me, even tho ive tried several solutions that have been posted here....
playing offline is not a problem, ive also downloaded 2 custom courses and installed & played with no probs...
right my problem....i have managed to get in the easo online lobby 4 times in around 500 attempts, ive played 3 matches online with no probs while playing....but when i hit done after the game i crash out to desktop with message tw08 as stopped running,windows will look for a solution but never does!
the same thing happens when i open tw08 up, hit play online and it crashes to same reply as above.....
as i said ive tried most things, the only one i havent had success with is the solution where someone said change the IFRAME to FRAME in notepad, as notepad dont let me overwrite it and save, unless im doing something wrong...
any help would be nice, as i like to tee off without any fuss :-)
im running the dreaded Vista prem, IE7 without that KB file what everyone says needs uninstalling

| Make sure before you try to change the file that TW08 is not running in the background. Try rebooting your computer and then making the change. |

thanks for the reply Blu,but not having much look with this solution, ive tried doing this,but it wont let me modify and save the page in notepad! to be honest i didnt know you could modify programs. when i hit save it says page exists, overwrite it,i say yes and then tells me i cant modify so i have to close without saving :-(
Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\EASO\TW\main
And look for file: easoMain.html
Right click file: easoMain.html......and choose to open with: Notepad
search for the following line....(you can find in the middle of the file):
IFRAME id=easoHtmlIframe SRC=../../commonHtml/blank.html FRAMEBORDER=2 BORDER=2 width=5 height=5 tabindex=-1 /IFRAME
and change it to ...
FRAME id=easoHtmlIframe SRC=../../commonHtml/blank.html FRAMEBORDER=2 BORDER=2 width=5 height=5 tabindex=-1 /FRAME
So the only thing you have to do is to change the first and the last word from: IFRAME to FRAME
When you did don t forget to SAVE the file easoMain.html |

if you dont have that security update installed shouldnt be an issue
- better to have it installed though
Vista you said?
might have to look at your permissions, make sure the account youre using has the authority to make the file change |

Hi all, as you can see from above posts Ive had some frustrating times getting TW08 to run when trying to play online, I used to hit play online link and it would crash to desktop saying windows cant run this program
We all read the threads about solutions, like the update KB****** or changing the IFRAME to FRAME in notepad,but nothing worked for me.
Only last week for some reason my PC got messed up big time so I had to do a clean install of Vista Home Prem, updated all drivers etc..
So I thought i would give TW08 another shot, and bingo!!! I could join Easo everytime and Ive since played in my 1st tour....
Now for the reason of this post, and hope it might solve the problem for anyone else out there who as witnessed the same problems as me.....
I have a Dell XPS 420 with a 19-1 card reader with bluetooth, but after the reinstall the software was missing,and my son wanted the bluetooth, so I went to Dell website and downloaded it, installed software,bluetooth worked ok but....DANG tw08 went back to crashing oh my.....
So if you have bluetooth and are having probs,look in the add & remove program list,and see if you can see a program called Widcomm bluetooth if you have,uninstall it, my bluetooth still works without this software, and now my TW08 works fine again.
just a thought, hope it works for some one but this must have been blocking my connection to Easo.

Bluetooth can be funky on Vista,I have Widcomm software installed for my phone and TW works fine,I also bought a new Bluetooth headset for my phone( Jawbone)which can be used to voice command Vista instead of using a mouse,it takes some time to setup the voice commands but it works well.
I have also been trying voice commands with TW08,I have it working about 90% of the time with three click but it will miss the third click 10% of the time,if I ever get it working 100% I will post how its done. |
