I am trying to install a custom course in 2008. I am used to using the Course Utilities method, and after installing the course when I launch the game, and get to the course selection screen, there is a blank where the course icon should be (it does say custom course when I roll the mouse over it)and there is a message that says cant launch course / cant read txt file / put in disc containing txt file, or something similar. So I tried using the CLS method. I started FROM scratch, installed 06, 07 and 08 FROM scratch, dumped all my old customs as well as their libraries. I tried one new custom, d/l FROM this great site, followed directions and this is what I get every time when I try to install libraries: (This is not word for word)... The library you are trying to install is already installed on your system and the contents differ FROM the libray you are trying to install. This may be due to a course designer using an old library and not changing the name, etc... you will need to uninstall and reinstall the library...
This happens with every library I attempt to install. I must be doing some thing wrong. I am stumped! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks |

first off - sounds like youre using an old version of CU08 you need to make the logo and text file associations by clicking on the course in CU, then choosing properties then fill in the blanks
or use Jos latest version with logo support (auto installs logo, text, and splash for courses compressed to tcx using it) http://rapidshare.com/files/75638815/cu_tw08.rar
-
clsetup - doesnt sound like you uninstalled all the previous files there are still registry entries which are confusing the install process
ccleaner or other registry cleaner always a good idea when making large scale changes - many people use it nightly
1. open clsetup close first pop up screen click File, Analyze installation - should say if any/which problems exist
2. click on File, Uninstall library - what does it show you having installed? do the same thing with File, Uninstall Course
3. Open Windows Explorer C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Courses is where all courses should be located, in their own subfolder
C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Courses\libraries is where CLSetup installs libraries if you have the default location checked off in the Properties section
CU would install libraries where you told it too - usually better to use a library subfolder for all of them - or several folders 06 Stock Lib, 07 Stock Lib, etc etc - your choice |
