I realize this question falls outside the realm of what you guys are doing here, but on the other hand several of you have shown yourselves to be pretty smart and computer savvy, so Im hopeful.
The work you designers have done rendering new courses has breathed new life into a game that was a week away from being uninstalled before I found my way to this website. On the other hand, Ive got all these beautiful new courses to play but the same dorky, badly rendered golfer avatar to use while playing it. Has anyone done any work improving the quality of the golfers and the so-called game face feature (which I thought was pretty good back in 04 when I first saw it, but hasnt really been improved or substantively changed since then, at least in the PC versions of the game)?
Specifically, Im tired of the pop-out neck goiter and badly fitting teeth (Jim Furyk looks like hes about to spit out his dentures, and sometimes the teeth actually come out through the golfers upper lip), and some of the really stupid looking animations, like the female golfers serpentine walk off the green, the chicken neck bobble, and the various hip-hop dance moves (which were even sillier with the game incarnations that included golfers like Hogan, Nicklaus and Palmer. That was downright disrespectful).
OK, Im a little OCD and some things bother me that other (normal) people would just ignore. I thought at first that some of these graphics issues must have been a video card/drivers issue, but Ive had the Tiger Woods game since I first purchased it in 04, and this has been a consistent problem across half a dozen or so computers that Ive owned since then.

Hi Tom....
You can disable the various hip-hop dance moves in options screen i believe.
When you go to TW08 options screen....Game......and here you have to uncheck: Shot reaction motions. |

| I have taken the time to create a golfer that looks almost exactly like me and for the most part it looks great. But like you say, I too am not real impressed with those times I see my teeth sticking through my upper lip. But hey, all in all it is good IMO. |

I tried to make a golfer that looks exactly like me, but all I can seem to come up with is this middle-aged, grouchy, fat white guy...
I will try fooling around with the post-shot options, but Im guessing this is all or nothing, though, and all I really want to do is get rid of the stupid-looking ones. Of course, I can always just hit ESC when they start to run. |

| All you have to do is make your top and bottom lips a little larger in the game face area. That will take care of any teeth showing. |
