Hello to all and a happy new year.
I have suddenly lost TW 08 on my XP system, when I click on the icon to start the game the PC freezes for 5 mins?? Did a system restore but this didnt help at all.Installed TW 08 on my vista hard drive and this starts but will not log on to the online section??
I have uninstalled this and re-installed this on my XP drive but this still wont open up. i am at a total loss as to why this should suddenly do this as I was playing online an hour before this happened.
The weired thing is my TW07 is still fine???... Has anyone any ideas that will help me out here PLEASE!!!

Hi Pete.....
Maybe good idea to clean up your PC and registry,a very good program is: CCleaner.
It is free program, it will clean up your pc and there is also Registry cleaner added.
You can download on link below:
http://www.ccleaner.com/
There was also problem with windows UPDATE and TW online play ( Easo). On link below you can read how to fix it:

| Hi Gunpowder thanks for the tip, I have ran all my anti trojan, adware , spyware, reg cleaners etc my system is almost Sterile...LOL so I know that this is not the problem. If I could only Log on on Vista this would be a massive bonus...Cheers Pete |

For Vista users, there is also a conflict with EASO and Windows Mobile Device Center causing EASO to crash the game. The only solution at this point is to uninstall Windows Mobile Device Center, which is not a solution for many who also own smartphones and sync with their Outlook on their computers. I have asked EA to look into patching this and the Windows update issue.

Thanks to all for your help, I have managed to get online with Vista using the remove Hotfix link.
Still cant resolve the XP problem which is my Main operating system tho.

pete, your player file .plr in career players folders in my documents Tiger Woods
PGA Tour 08 folder, has been damaged I think, check your player name file .plr, if it has zero bytes, this is your problem. rename Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 folder in my documents and
try to start TW08 game. the game will make a new folder and should start.

Hi all
Thanks to Ron for the Tip ( I only wish I had seen this before I had uninstalled the game!!!!).
Got this up and running again by removing ALL traces of TW 08 from the registry manualy then installing the game again, Now in the process of putting back all the custom courses and libraries which I had saved previously. Thanks again you guys have a good 2008 !! Pete |
