Sorry if this has been covered but will the TW08 custom golfers work with TW07? I love TW07 and with the concerns about TW08 I dont know if I want switch.

Yes they will, that is the answer you want me to say right.
It does take work through. Each player is a matrix of data. So for example lets take Ernie Els......Well 1st in 07 the player pic is a circle .dds file, so you need to create that, or find someone who has that.
Next you need to go in to 08, and Hand Copy.

Their is about 100 of these stats for each player, THIS IS THE PLAYERS DNA YOU NEED TO HAVE THE DATA FOR THIS. Also some of the eyes stats differ in the game, so you need to figure out which stats are different in each game, invert them, for example the eyes slant backwards in 07 than 08, their are a few others and well.. Next if you want them to have the same equipment and clothes, you need to write down or memorize all of those stats also. Last you will need a current copy of the gcfs folder for 07, the 08 folder is not acceptable. |

No that will not work, cause the two engines are different, different things will get messed up on each player. from 06 to 07 that is possible but not to 08. In 08, things will port over and stay correct were other things will not, you will have to go in and manually change many of the settings for each player you convert. You can also just play around and guess on the stats, these are not perfect clones...
Some of the things that were messed up, the hair, eyes, eyebrows, some facial features, and the mouth features. The body shape and legs seem to be very close to the same.
The clothes, gloves, clubs, and golf ball also needed to be reset. This actually worked to an advantage, cause on players like Henrick Stenson and Nick Faldo the clothes they are dressed in actually dont exist in the 08 game. |

How Do You Install Custom Golfers that you download for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08? Because I would like to know. I would like to put Davis Love III, Fred Couples, David Duval, Phil Mickleson, and more. I need Step By Step info on how to do this.

Hi ......
You can download custom players in section:
Utilities....Utilities and files for TW08....Custom golfers.
To install custom golfers in TW game: ( for example: davidhowell)
Extract or unzip the downloaded zip file to a location: for example : Desktop
Now you will have a folder on desktop: 282davidhowell.
When you look in that folder you will see a new folder: Howell
dubble click this folder (Howell) and inside you will see:
Folder named: David Howell
David Howell.aia
David Howell.cal
David Howell.hal
David Howell.plr
Now right click folder (David Howell) and choose: Copy........and paste in next location: MyDoc/Tw08/Career/Players
Do the same with: David Howell.plr
(So now folder David Howell+David Howell.plr will be in players folder)
Now right click : David Howell.aia.....choose copy.......and paste in next location: MyDoc/Tw08/Ability
Do the same with: David Howell.hal + David Howell.cal
( So now .aia + .hal + . cal files will be in Ability folder )
Now start TW08 game, and on main screen click: Change Profile.....and you should find David Howell in the player list.
(Note: you can find the folder: MyDoc....on you desktop it is called: My documents....
And inside you will see: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2008 with inside Ability folder and Career/players folder.) |
