I am using TW07 now, however still having the same problem i had in 06. I use the gamepad swing with my logitech dual action controller. Using the profiler, i have been able to adjust the settings to make my swing not to easy, yet not so hard where any deviation offline if just a horrible shot everytime.
My problem is the strength on putting, and also the putting lines on sidehill putts. I had TW06 for my playstation 2 first before switching to 06 on PC. With the PS2 version, putts were determined by how much strength of 100% used. The thing there was that if 100% was just past the hole, and then you aimed it a few feet back from that, a new factor of distance would be made and perhaps you would only need to swing at 60% power of 20 feet max rather then 100% of 10 feet at max power. When i try checking the distance on my putter, it gives me something like 12 inches or 40 inches. The problem i have is that there is hardly any in between on putts. If i just hit it a bit too hard, it may go 20 ft past the hole on an original 12 ft putt. Then yet when i hit it just a bit softer, it goes only 6 ft and i am left short. Any suggestions on a way to solve this or something i may be missing?
The other part was on sidehill putts. On the PS2 version we could put sidespin influence to hang a putt out to the right or left, thus keeping it from diving so hard to left or right and not using as much power depending on the line. Is there any way to do this on the PC other then trying to make it like a fade or draw as u would on a regular drive or approach shot? It just seems to make it much worse trying that as oppsed to just hanging the aim out way left or right and hoping the speed is close or otherwise i miss my putt by 20-30 feet.
Thanks for reading and any suggestions you can provide are greatly appreciated. I finally have my season setup, so with the way i made my PGA tour list, i need every stroke i can get. |

| I think I can answer the last part of your question. As you have probably found out, the PC version is much more geared to a golf simulation as opposed to the console arcade type approach. In the real game of golf, any kind of side spin on a putted ball would be something you would never want to try to do. You want the ball to roll end over end as straight as possible. That is the same approach that the PC version takes. Just as in real golf, to make uphill, downhill and sidehill putts it just takes practice to know how hard to strike the ball and how far to aim the ball left or right for sidehill putts. |
