TW 08 is terribly unworkable for 07 courses. I could not install the 07 courses and libraries for TW 08 the easy way with a CA program or the CLSetup program, so I installed them with Jeff Jarvis registry fix which did work. But the only problem is, is that when you open your TW 08 game to play a course you cannot see MOST of the 07 courses installed in the octagon frames in the course selection of the game? I became so frustrated with this 08 game I just UNinstalled it entirely. Even the screens have this octagon webbing which is awful. I found out after all this frustration TW 2007 is best all around.

The courses in 08 require a logo for them to be seen in the courses list, as soon as an installer is made that will no longer be a problem but if you look in utilities there are some already made up that you can use, apart from a few problems to overcome I think 08 is a big improvement on 07, just my opinion of course.

Leave 07 installed or at least get a copy of all your courses and libraries as you will need them to play custom courses in 08, just saves you having to download loads of libraries again. Also grab the 07 stock libraries for installation into 08, you can find them in the courses folder and inside the relevant stock course folder. (Stock courses are always named in 3 letter capitals, i.e. AVI, CAR, COG)

Hi Ken.....
When you want to play TW07 custom courses in TW 08 game, don t uninstall TW07 game yet.
The reason is TW07 custom courses are using some TW07 stock libraries and they are not yet available for download. So it is good idea to install all TW07 stock libraries from TW07 game in TW08 game.
When all stock libraries are added in TW08 game you can uninstall TW07 game.....
(you can find all Stock libraries inside TW07 stock course folders....)

Also it is possible some TW08 custom course designers will use TW07 stock libraries in custom TW08 course......same problem...TW07 stock not available for download......but not many designers will use TW07 stock libraries i believe/hope.
Note: EAsports will release TW07 stock libraries later this year i believe/hope........

So when you delete TW07 game without adding TW07 stock libraries you will not be able to play TW07 courses in TW08 game.
But you will be able to play most of the released TW08 custom courses.
And when EAsports released TW07 stock libraries for download....you will be able to play all courses.

It is no problem to install TW08 game on your PC when TW07 game is not uninstalled....
You will need 6GB of free space on your PC to have both games installed.
I have TW05+TW06+TW07+TW08 installed on my system and have no problems.....

Lol...sorry ROB.......i didn t see your previous post......:):)

I have not picked up a copy of 08 yet, but I probably will. I am kind of confussed at what we have to do to get the 07 courses into the game and also how to get 08 courses into the game. First we were told of a registery edit to get the 07 courses. Now apparently there is an edited version in circulation of jorgens 07 installer that allows it to work with 08 courses. As it stands right now do I understand correctly that the only way to import the 07 courses is to do the registery edit and the only way to import the 08 couses is to use the edited version of Jorgens CLsetup? Does the edited version replace the 07 version of the CLSetup that I now have on my computer, or is it a complete new install so I will still be able to use the original version for the 07 game? At some point, do we undo the registery edit that we did to get the 07 courses into the game or do we keep it edited so that any future 07 courses that we download will automatically go into the 08 game? I guess that is enough questions for now. lol

Ok, lol

#1- As it stands right now, is the registry edit all we have to do to get the 07 custom courses into the 08 game?

#2- As it stands right now, is installing the edited version of CLSetup all we have to do to get the 08 custom courses into the 08 game?

#3- Is there anything else that we do or do not need to do to get the 07 and the 08 custom courses into the 08 game?

lol. I think you are teasing me a little bit, but thats ok Bud.

I did purchase the game and so far I have done #1. The 100 or more custom courses that I had in the 07 game are now installed in the 08 game and I must say that I am quite impressed. The ones I have played so far play and look even better than they did in 07. Great to see the reflections back in the water again also. The only problem I had was a kind of shimmering effect on some of the trees. I fixed that by changing the shader option from very high to medium.

What makes you think he is teasing you? The second option is the best option in the list you gave.

Perhaps he wasnt. Perhaps I didnt make myself clear, but I was not asking which option was the best. What I was asking is if there was anything else that we had to do to achive both options and if those options were still the best way to import 07 and 08 courses into 08 game. But no matter. I was hesitant in purchasing the game, but I am now glad that I did. Both of your work a rounds are great Jeff and I thank you much.
