I was wondering if anyone could help me possibly form an online petition for the future in case Tw 08 does not recognize custom courses. I would think it would be a good idea at least to try. If this petition is already in process, please inform me.
Maybe we can change something for the hopes of the future of creativity in course design and the expression of artistic ability. This site exists for this specific expression and I beleive its worth fighting for. We might get an Ea sports released patch for 08 that would allow custom course recognition or we might even get a course architect if we creat enough noise...
If not, maybe 09.
Dont allow Ea sports to do this.
That would help just in case worse comes worse.
Also I should say boycotting wont work in this situation because then Ea might just stop making Tw games for the pc if they dont make enough profits.
We should do this if we have to. |

There were many many online petitions as well as complaints in their own forums last year, I doubt they do any good.
Here is a quote from a user at TWC:
I was in a Gamestop yestersday, my wife was in another store so I had a few minutes to kill. As luck would have it a EA rep. was in the Store also, I heard the owner talking to him. I waited until the rep was done talking to the owner and decided to see if I could find out anything about TW 08. I told the rep I enjoyed the TW series and he said Me too, Ive played since 03, hmm I asked him if he played Online with the PC and he said Its the only way I play..HMMMM, he asked if I played Online I said yes, next he asked for my EASO name, when I told him he said he knew of me and that I was a very good player blah blah blah...
I told him of my (our) Concerns for the 08 release (ability to play Customs, Lie issue, Course Arch.), he just smiled and said & I quote YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT, thats all he would tell me and encouraged me to buy 08 for PC. I got pretty excited about his upbeat attitude..I asked him for his EASO name and he wouldnt tell me for obvious reasons but did say he considers himself a decent expert player???
Again just take this for what its worth, they guy seemed genuine so Im encouraged by this. |

You asked the questions do petitions ever make a difference, well the answer to that is YES!.
I play Silent Hunter 4 and there was news that the version 1.2 patch of for SH4 was going to be the final ever patch for it.
This news absolutely mortified the SH community seeing as the game was nowhere near finished and still had bugs galore, even after 2 patches. The SH4 community got together, organised a petition and let their feelings be known that they werent happy about this. As a result the version 1.3 patch has since been released and work is still ongoing to improve the sim.
Getting EA to put back the Course Utility can definitely be done if people push the right buttons. |

| If petitions dont work, a drop in sales of their games will so if EA dont listen and do anything just stop buying their games!!!! If enough people did that theyd listen!!! |

I say petitions and good contact with someone who could create another course installer like cl setup should do just fine.
Its too bad that we have to do so much for something that should have obviously already been with the Game...

Ea got hell from players when they tried to charge for on line play and dropped the idea. I think it was 2004 version if memory serves me well.
EA turns over just under $3B per annum...so i have just read in a confidential report....so confidential someone posted it on the net LOL.........there sure to listen to us :0(
Not many reps on the board of Directors maggie but lets hope hes right. |
