I ve had the same thing happen and found that it was the gameface mode.
For me, I had too many articles, jewlery, tats, etc. That was making the game crash
Try to limit those items, maybe that will help?

Hi .....
you can try to clean up your pc (cookies...temporary files....registry.....etc...) with CCleaner.
It is good/free program, you can download on link below:

Another fantastic program out there that really helps, even better in my opinion than CCleaner, but both are fantastic, is Reg Seeker. You just cant beat either of these programs. Heres a link to that free program.

Tried Reg Seeker, ran my AV program, spybot search&destroy,PC Pitstop Optimize,Tweaknow RegPro(another registry program) cut down on some of the jewelery, tattos, etc & still doesnt help, game just continues to totally reboot my entire computer upon trying to launch any kind of game (whether it be a pratice round, LAN game, etc) i guess it looks like a uninstall/reinstall as it seems nothing is helping, and that bites as it was running fine just up until say not even 2 weeks ago, this happened once before as well (having to uninstall&reinstall) ohhhhhhh well, unless somebody has a last minute winner of a suggestion that looks to be the plan as my lil friday nite golf clan will be together once again this friday/saturday night & i am not missing it again (missed last saturdays round because of this inconvience) If i do have to indeed uninstall/reinstall which is the easiest way to do this with the chance of saving my courses&libraries (and profile possibly?)

When you uninstall the game you will also uninstall all the libraries and courses so you will have to install them again, however you wont have to download them all again. If you go to C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 07 and you will see the courses and libraries folders, copy them to your desktop as a complete folder and compress the folder (ready for installing with clsetup when the games reinstalled)

To save your profiles go to C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 07 and copy all the folders in there to your desktop, after reinstalling start the game once then put them folders back into their original spot, over writing the new ones in there (though if I remember right you get the option to save these anyway when uninstalling)

Hope that helps.

There are three things I can think of.

1- Something has gone wrong with you graphics card.
2- One or more of your memory sticks have gone bad.
3- Dust build up in your computer causing an overheating problem.

well 1st what kind of video card do u have. You may want to upgrade that or even your PC.

1st thing I would suggest is lower all the game setting to minimum. This is done in the game options. I would also play the game using Ball Cam or Fixed Cam (Auto Cam will more than likely crash you). Last off run it at 16 bit and not 32.

You may have your game settings to high for what your computer can handle. You need a pretty good system to run this game. After you try the above and if it works you may need to figure out how high u can go with your settings.

Here is a start....Turn tree animations off, than lower the tree setting to low or medium for all the tree settings. Water can be set to high. Rough medium or low. Cls and Galleries to medium.

Well as far as previous comment concerning dust build-up, i just ripped my computer apart & cleaned it not even maybe 2-3 weeks ago, so i know that shouldnt be it, although when this did happen to me once b4 about 3-4 months ago-dust buildup was the case, so with it being cleaned completely just 2-3 weeks ago-i doubt thats the case (thx for the suggestion anyways tho). My system specs are as follows:

AMD Athlon 64 running at 2.41 ghz
2.00 gb of 333ghz 3200 ram
NVidia 7800 GS 256 mb AGP vid-card
Sound Blaster Audigy sound card
Windows XP Pro sp2

Ive never had a problem running this game, even at its highest settings, this yrs edition is the 1st that i have now had this problem with, been playing Tiger for at least the past 4-5 yrs now. The 07 edition is the 1st edition that has caused these computer reboots, and to thicken the plot, all my other 3d intense games run with no problems, this is the only game on my system that does this. I will try the graphics settings that Hyno Designs has recommended even tho as i stated previously, this game has ran fine at the highest settings for months on end & now this is the 2nd time that this yrs edition has now done this, last time it was just a simple case of dust buildup, this time tho, its got my number as i have now tried almost everything i can think of???

OK, tried the graphics settings that Hyno Designs recommended & natta (same thing upon launch of game, total reboot of computer). I even went into my system registry myself by doing a regedit & found numerous leftover files after i uninstalled the game a 2nd time now, checked under my documents for leftovers & under my C: drive/did a search of my system & TOTALLY erased everything (thinking possibly a corrupt file) & upon rebooting & reinstalling the game a 2nd time now in the last 3-4 days, got the same result, total reboot of the computer i just dont get it, cant be my graphics-card at least i wouldnt think as i run every other graphic intense game on my system with no problems, i dont get it, HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have the download version of the game or is it the DVD version? In either case have you tried running the game in Windows 2000 compatibility mode?

I can understand your frustration. from reading what you wrote, I can’t really figure out what is causing the PC reboots.

Here are a few more ideas….

1st Test another computer game, and see if it work right now. Test out TW06 for sure

Look at how much virtual memory your computer is using. Than go in to the (START-RUN- and type in MSCONFIG, go in to the startup box….Try to figure out all the start up programs that you don’t need, uncheck them and reboot your PC. Knock out a lot of the programs if u can.

#2 You can always try to reinstall all your Video Card driver.

Well i think i got it (He hopes!!!) thought about the suggestion from Hyno Designs about the video-card possibly being bad, but yet i still thought it can be so i got to thinking n thinking, here i had a old vanilla NVidia 6600 256mb agp card still in the cubboard as a emergence backup (my original card) & thought lets rip that 7800 GS out n give the 6600 a shot, did that n fired up a practice round n PRESTO it worked, BUT, here without even realizing when i hooked up the 6600 i plugged in another jumper cord from the ps & then THATS WHEN IT HIT ME you big dummy, i had the little jumper cord going from my hd into the vi-card but DID NOT have that additional jumper cord from the ps hooked up, i thought, take the 66000 back out/uninstall the drivers from the 6600 & reinstall the drivers/card for the 7800 GS and see what happens, worse comes to worse i could use the 6600 until i pick up a new vid-card, well long story short the 7800 GS worked also upon hooking up ALL APPROPRIATE JUMPER CORDS soooooooooooooooooooooooooo, after all this time thats all it was, i didnt have that additional jumper cable hooked up, i guess the hd was getting just enuff power to start the game but as soon as i would try to fire a game up it just didnt have enuff juice to complete the task, ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh what a relief (he keeps his fingers crossed!!!) but thanks all for all the hints n tips, who knows maybe someone else will need to read this thread at one time or another? And last but not least, thank god i backed up all my libs, crzs & my player profiles (but it was still a tad pain in the arse putting them all back in-time consuming) HIT EM LONG N STRAIGHT GENTS, Thanks to all who contributed to this thread ....................................
