| Oh dear....it has been years since I opened the old course architect for PGA2000 and worked with it. I recently upgraded to TW2007 and wanted to make some courses or at least try converting some of my old ones. Well, TW2003 says it would try to convert my old courses (so I got a used one from eBay), but it only converted the libraries (and that half a*%). I asked it to convert my course and it went into error mode. I know that all the 3d objects are cool, but man, what happened to all those nice cedar trees from Sahalee and those cool cars and stuff???? Now they are all 3d objects and if you add a bunch of objects in one section (i.e....golf carts ), the architect says you have too much detail and will not compile your course. Needless to say, Im VERY DISAPPOINTED that Headgate Studios has NEVER done anything to upgrade the very unreliable and hard to use architect program. A site like this with all the wonderful custom courses and active membership shows that there are plenty of interested fans who would probably spend money to get a course architect program that is easier to use. Well, enough of the old stuff...now to the new...I was working on a course and it compiled and ran correctly until today. The aforementioned architect program will now NOT compile the course if I have the reflections checked and tree lighting. I am now in the process of installing the architect again hoping it will fix this pain....Any help from the veterans out there would be helpful...BTW...the PS2 version of TW2007 comes WITH a course architect. |

granted it hasnt changed that much, but the 07 custom courses are all done using the 06 CA
you need to have TW06 installed the CA is here: ftp://ftp.easports.com/pub/easports/misc/TigerWoodsPGATour06/ |

The old course converter never did a very good job of converting and IIRC PGA2000 courses almost always never converted anyway.
