Hi everyone,

i have tried to download Augusta for 03 but there doesnt seem to be any TCR/TCA files. the libraries loaded in fine. i have downloaded the CLS setup prog, but none the wiser. if TCR files were included i could install, no probs. can anyone help me please?

fantastic site, ive been looking for something like this for four years. i have 03 and 05 and am on my NINTH course design, (most of my courses are sited in real locations, some of them real courses). i will be submitting some of my courses soon - one of them is situated on a lancashire beach (on raised mounds) which can be played with the tide in or out. another is one of the most challenging courses ive ever played, a real course that has dramatic hills and gorges. playing at championship level, i seek the difficult challenges that require skillful use of power and manipulation of the ball flight, so i place hazzards to maximise strategic management of the course or to present the greatest challenges affected by various weather conditions.

my courses are ususally much more challenging than the default TW courses. if you are interested, please contact me - kendaleaton@hotmail.com. cheers for help.

Hi bro course files can have two extensions: .TCX or .TCR
TCX: Compressed course file
TCR: course file.
When you download Augusta03 you will see course file......TCX.
when you install in game it will be .TCR extension.
All libraries are TCL extension.

When you are on download page of Augusta:
On right side you can download all required libraries.
On left side you can see download link for Course file.

Ok anyone having same problems - heres an update.

1 - installed TW2003 on same comp.
2 - made folder for course downloads on C: drive
3 - made seperate folder for extracted library files and folder for extracted course including TCX file
4 - used TW Course Utility to install
a) library files to Architect Library
b) course files to named course folder in TW courses folder eg. Augusta.tcr to Augusta folder

- TCX file converted to TCR file by program -

Because i play my game on a better comp than the one i use for the net, i then had to:

copy the converted files to disc and repeated the above process on that PC. of course, the only difference was that the installation of the course file was then the converted TCR file. i had to copy all the files from the course folder (not the library files) with this file to the destination folder - only then did it appear in the course selection in TW2003 game.

my computer is Win XP Pro SP2 - 1gig ram / 200gig hd / 3200 AMD athlon processor and has 256mb graphics card.

conclusion - when i access the course to play it, the program still does not load it and closes. any suggestions please?

Its obviously an install problem, by far the easiest way to install courses and libraries is with the clsetup programme available

CL says cannot read zip files corrupted - CLsetup needs to close

but i know those files were ok when i unzipped them before copying them to other computer.

tried CLsetup to install after uninstaling what i ad - either wont read zips or when loaded lirary files successfully, wont convert 865augusta.tcx or read 865augusta.tcr

then when install 865augusta.tcr using TW Course Utilities it installs fine but won\t open to play.

i suspect im not only one with this problem. CL SETUP DID INSTALL ALL ZIPFILE FINE ON LAPTOP (COMP I USE ON LINE) BUT I HAVENT SUFFICIENT RAM TO RUN PROGRAM TO SEE IT WORK.

tried copying all files from folders and installing them but still same problems on PC.

cannot think of any other option. problem seems to be difference between lap-top and PC

laptop = 256mb ram / XP pro sp2 / 2gb processor (on line)

PC = 1gb ram / XP pro sp2 / 3.2gb processor (not on line)

Im having difficulty following what exactly the problem is other than you cannot properly install courses using CLSetup. You said that you suspect others are having the same problem. If that was the case, I would expect to see a whole lot of people posting about it, which I dont.

You mentioned trying to install Augusta 03, which indicates to me you are trying to install this into TW03. Make sure you are using the correct version of CLSetup for your game (ie you must use the 03 version of CLSetup to install courses and libraries into TW03). Follow the tutorial directions and the course will install.

Hi....try this:

Download required Zip files (course+libraries ) from coursedownloads to desktop of your PC.
Don t touch Zip files, only thing you have to do is copy zip files to disc.

Now copy zip files from your disc to desktop of your second PC.
And install courses+ libraries in TW game with course utilities or CLsetup.

Have CLsetup2k3 - already tried it on zip-files (not on desktop but in C: folder created for it same thing. did this because in course ultilities it will not browse desktop, only drives).

read the instructions thoroughly before i started all this but will look again.

tried CLsetup with desktop folder (containing zips) and it said re: 865augusta2003 couldnt get ZIP global info, return code=-102 then installation not complete.

thanks for all help - sorry this is dragging.

If you are getting that error it means your zip file is corrupt. Either your download ended early or something happened during your download. Try redownloading the file. I tested downloading the Augusta file you are trying to install and it downloads fine, so there is nothing wrong with the file on the server.

Thanks Jeff,

did just download individual course and library zip-files using option2 (as i downloaded them using option1 last time) then tried as Gunpower61 suggested - (copied untouched to CD, then used CLsetup to install from desktop on the PC. wouldnt read them at all).

i know the files are ok when i have unzipped them and installed them on laptop but my PC doesnt accept them for some reason

they will go in if copied as unzipped files - library files appear in architect and work installed course file augusta2003.tcr will install but not play. TW2003 closes when i try.

there must be a simple solution to this somewhere - there is nothing wrong with my computers (i have been using nero7 to write the files to disk but it seems to be working).

would it be anything to do with the fact i have not donated (i have no facility to pay on line but i would like to send a cheque, if i can get these downloads to work). there doesnt seem to be any difficulty or warnings when i download the zip-files. this is frustrating. ive looked at every piece of info given to me.

It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that you havent donated. You are using a lot of ways to describe things that I am just having a lot of difficulty understanding when it comes to installing courses and libraries. I honestly cant tell what you have installed and what you havent. I am going to try to go step by step through what you have to do.

1) You have to download the course file and ALL required libraries for the course.
2) You do not have to unzip the course and library files if you are using CLSetup to install them.
3) All of the required libraries need to be installed. Open up CLSetup and install all of the required libraries. There is no specific place that these libraries need to be installed.
4) Once you have installed all of the libraries, then install the course. Again, if you are using the CLSetup program, the course zip file does NOT need to be unzipped. Install the course wherever you want on your hard drive. There is no specific place that the course needs to be installed.

I created a tutorial on how to install courses over at TWC many months ago. I am going to attach it here for you to try to follow. It describes how to install courses both with the CLSetup tool and with the Course Utilities program that comes with Tiger Woods. It was designed for TW2006 and TW2007, but it should work for TW2003 as well. There has been no real changes in the way courses and libraries are installed since TW2002 came out.
