Here is a decent article. While it does confirm what we already knew, it doesn’t say anything about TW PC future. I know it’s impossible to know for sure but the way it was left out leads me believe there are no immediate plans for TW 08 pc.
Here’s just a clip of the article, but usually when someone moves on to something new, they assure you that things are still in good hands with the old. I don’t see anything like that in this article.
The PC played a huge role in making Headgate what it is today, but does the Wii focus mean that the studio is abandoning the faithful platform? “Yes, that’s what that means,” Cook affirmed. “Things always change, but the plan is that we’ll just be developing for the Wii.”

This may be a good thing in disguise. The perfect world analogy would be take a few yrs off from the pc then explode back onto the scene with all new features and designer....As long as we can still make custom courses and the game server stays avail. we wouldn’t be missing much in the way of upgrades if things stayed the same as each new release now. Perhaps they may even throw a few extra courses disks our way during the off time as well.
Heres to hoping!!

Wow not a single mention of the upcoming plans to take over TW. I know a lot of times when things still aren’t 100% set in stone, companies don’t like to jump the gun by announcing things, but I’m anxious to see this division’s ideas and background in possibly improving things such as the CA and LC. I know that was HGS bread and butter but are they now willing to pass on their knowledge for the new team to try and improve on, ect. ????
See as how everyone is now owned by EA, I can only assume the HGS secrets come with the deal. I know the addition of the designer isn’t a big +/- profit factor for them but I just like to know what, if any, plans there are for future game releases.
That’s been the age old question I know... Just have to keep the eyes and ears open!!
Thanks for the update Tim!!
Good post Carn!!

| EA has been very quiet about this transition. EA Tiburon has assigned a Community Manager for Tiger (all versions). I am hearing all the right things at this time, but we all know how that goes with EA. I believe this is a very good move at this time for the Tiger franchise as the previous development efforts have been stale and less-than-inspiring. I also believe that EA Tiburon understands the value of having an online community and a community beta test of the PC product. We will soon see. I will share more information as it becomes available.... |
