I was just wondering what default course people hate the most.
I hate Emerald Dragon I just can`t seem to get a good score on it. On most of the other default courses I can shoot a -10 to -15 every round. With Emerald Dragon I`m at +25 before I finish the front 9. I`ve tryed around 100 times on this course and just can`t play it. The only other one I have a slight problem with is Central Park which I can normally shoot around -3 but still get a few + par rounds.

their was an 06 one, paradise something. (that was the worst) I lasted five holes on central park. The dragon one, I played in 05, and didnt make a return visit. However did try to load up the Highlands in 07, from 04....
Granted some of the these Fictional works are not fan favorites. I dont usually like em. However, each year they add about 2 extra libraries for the designer at this site to use in their courses. They may not be popular or even played that much, but they are better than not having those two extra libraries. The things is, the courses you play at this website are all built with EA Sports libraries, cause they are the ones who creates all the trees and bushes. At the same time, I understand that the players would rather get 2 more real courses, like a Bay Hill and Pinehurst#2...Let hope in 08 we get 2 more, and even a CA program.....I am not trying to start up stuff, but the TIGER WOODS series has a pretty nice size community that get this game every year. Why dont they have a voice at a website that does nothing else than promotes their product will tons and tons of extra courses. I do recall one year they did extra disks with extra courses. I would like to see something like that again. |

I like a few of the fictional courses. I would have to say Central Park is my least favorite. An interesting point being brought up about having MORE REAL courses made for TW. The way I see it, there are MORE than enough real courses throughout the US and abroad, not to have any fantasy courses. My point being is, I would much rather play a course that is on the PGA tour, or European tour than a fictional course. I have made a voice about how I would like to see more real courses designed, and less fictional courses. ALL of you guys do TREMENDOUS work with the fantasy stuff, but I think there are more than enough of real courses out there, and I think most people would rather play a real course, than a fantasy course, overall. Myrtle Beach, SC has literally over 100 golf courses in that area. Lots of nice courses on the SC and Georgia coasts as well. There are 6-8 more courses that are on Kiawah Island, SC, other than the Ocean course. There are great real courses all over, I would like to see more of them being made. There was a course made for TW 04, that I have personally played. It was Rock Barn Golf & Spa. It is in Conover, NC. This course hosts a Champions Tour event every year in September. It is a Robert Trent Jones Jr. design, I would like someone to re-issue that course for 07. Is that possible?? Thanks for everyones consideration!
Respectfully, Chuck M. |

just reading all these comments on emerald dragon and central park and all fantasy courses. seems like the ones who complain about them, arent that good at playing them , i think. i would love more fantasy courses , they seem to be more challenging then the real courses. most real courses are blah with not so hard greens, except for a few courses, thats my opinion |

I have two. Red Mountain Creek from the 2005 game and Central Park from the 2007 game. Two toughest I been on. If I have to pick one as hated more than the other it would be Red Mountain Creek.
Chuck
PS Seen a lot of posts about Emerald Dragon. My best on that course: -14 |

I am not sure that is the case, For me, it may have something to do with the design of the holes, just the xp of playing something that has nothing to do with a golf. I am sure many people enjoy playing Miniature Golf with WindMills, Circus Clowns, and Pirates. If they are done well, they can be fun. If one knows what they are doing they can make a course as hard as they want. You can take a course like Pebble Beach and make it a US OPEN course, granted the people at EA Sports choose not to do this. The game is generic by nature and to find challenge in it may be difficult for someone who has mastered the game. Most of the stock stuff, you can go really low on, that is why a lot of people enjoy some of these customs. |

You think all real courses are not a challenge?? Ok, take a course like Medinah, or Winged Foot West, set it at gusty winds, heavy rough, and very dry greens. Tell me those two courses wouldnt play as tough as ANY fantasy course out there. You cant play all real courses on calm winds, normal greens. There IS nothing normal about golf at all. So, you dont have to play fantasy courses, just to have a challenge ahead of you.

poohween, I agree totally, you play a course on novice with calm to no wind, and of course it is going to be easy. One can hit every shot with in a few feet of were one is aiming. Add in some hard pins, thick rough, some wind breezy and up, play a challenging course, set it to dry, play the back tees than you have something.
A few years back, I know, I had people setting up tournaments on the courses I did, playing the red tees. That didnt last long, cause after I saw this, all the extra tees were gone. Now you can only play from the tips. If you want a challenge, play Carnoustie in the wind, that course was designed to simulate a real course, and plays as hard as anything around. |

The 17th hole in the Central Park course has been frustrating me for a long time. Just where do you aim your Tee shot? What club do you use? Back or forward? Just where the heck is the ball supposed to land? |
