Hello fellow golfers,
Looks like there are shader folders in TW06/07/08. Does anyone know if the shader files are the same through all versions, or whether the shader files are created specifically for each version.
Thanks... |

I compared the 3 shader files ( in the shader folder ) of TW06 and TW08. In TW06 and TW08 they have exactly the same name, but when open the dds files with photoshop and i compare them, then they look a bit different, almost the same, but not completly the same. So i think each game has his own files, since they look a bit different. |

Thanks Gunpower61,
Currently can not use shader as it makes the screen too dark for my eyesight. I was contemplating shader folder substitution from TW06 in to TW08 as TW06 is more clear for me. Of course I'm assuming shader density is the issue. Thanks for checking the files. |

In TW08 there is a gamma setting, if you move the slider a bit to the right then the game will be brighter, not sure this can help you. Start TW08, and on the main screen go to: Options.....Video And on bottom you will see a slider named: gamma If you move the slider a bit to the right then the game will be brighter |

Hello Gunpower, I've tried every permutation of the shader without success. That's one of the reasons I asked about shader folders and whether shader values were different in earlier games. In TW06 everything is more clear, so I wondered if the shader values within the shader folder were different. Cheers, USB |

USB, You seem to be talking about two different things. You've said the screen is too dark for you, but you keep talking about 'shaders'. All the different shader levels do, mostly, is add more shadow and depth to the courses. It does very little to make the game much brighter or darker.
What Gunpower described is something entirely different. The Gamma level makes the screen brighter or darker. If you set the gamma level higher, it'll make the screen and everything on it much brighter.
You responded to Gunpower's suggestion by talking more about shaders. Gamma settings have nothing to do with shaders. Have you actually tried the gamma thing? |
