Hello fellow golfers,
I'm a Bobby Jones era fanatic. In this series of golf games I prefer using retro clothing, retro wooden clubs, and sounds that reflect contact with a persimmon club and the ball.
Seems like TW06 has all that and I'm searching for a way to port all of that in to TW08.

Hello clothes can be imported with texmod when you have a tpf file, see link below:

But i don t think it is possible to import custom shafts/clubs, not even possible with texmod i think. |

Any graphic in the game can be replaced by texmod.
If there are graphics in the 06 game for old clubs, you can export those using texmod and place them over similar shaped clubs in the 08 game. They will still have the names of the 08 clubs, but they will look like the clubs you want.
All sounds in the game are wav files in the /Sounds/Basic directory of TW08. If there are sounds for the old clubs in 06, they would also be wav files and therefore could be copied over.
You would have to find which wav files are the sounds for the clubs strikes in 08 and rename the 06 counterparts to match and then overwrite them.
There are A LOT of sound files, so it would take you a while to find all the ones you want.
To my knowledge, no one has ever uploaded such things, but it is all do-able. But you'll have to do it yourself.
You'll likely need some basic photoshop skills to modify the club graphics to use in texmod. |
