I've read a few threads re: acid trees, at least I think I have. I get the acid tree treatment on many golf courses that I download for TW08. I'm hoping that someone that reads by signature will have some idea for a cure. Thanks for reading, happy golfing if you play. |

in setting turn your shader to low or off and see it if changes and helps
Start TW08 game......go to: Options.......Graphics.....set it to manual settings.....and set: Shader level: low ( or medium ) |

Hello, and thank you. I attached a shader auto picture at Gleneagles.
I've already run the gamut of shader level testing. Although higher shader levels mitigate the issue somewhat, shader levels create a dull picture on my computer. I'd like to see the TW06 shaders in this game, if that makes any sense. That game (TW06) is crystal clear on my computer. However, the TW08 course are so outstanding it's worth pursuing a happy medium in TW08.
My phrase acid trees refers to trees that are overly bright in the far distance. This only seems to happen with add-on golf courses.

Shader off picture attached, trees in the far distance are very bright and shiny, for want of a better description. |

As Rlslay said the best setting for the shader level is: Low Shader level low will also give you nice reflecting water. I also tried Gleneagles and for me too the trees in the distance are not very clear. ( I have exactly same view as the pictures USB attached ) I tried all settings but it didn t change the view of the distance trees. |

That is distance fade which happens with long viewing lines. Common on most courses. There is no fix I know of cause it is something i battle with on every course |

Howdy Leo,
Acid trees refers to trees in the distance that look out of place. On my computer they have an overly bright appearance that does not match up in color with the other trees.
Please refer to rislay and his comment about sight line distance. |

It's just atmospheric perspective. As objects get farther away from the viewer, they tend to get lighter in colour or at least less intense in colour. This is because there are more air molecules between the viewer and the object the farther away it is, and so the light/colour from the object has to travel through more stuff and colours get muted.
That's what the game designers were doing with those distant trees. There are 3 basic distance levels in the game. Foreground detail trees/objects, mid ground lower detail trees/objects (the light distant trees) and the background panos. The problem is actually all our user created panos. They are pretty much all too intense and colourful or dark and so the mid ground trees appear too light, when it's actually the panos that are too dark behind them.
Take the panos out and those bright trees don't look nearly as bad. The developers did go a tad heavy on the mid ground tree lightening. But they never really anticipated all our dark, intense panos. |

Take a look at this real photo. It has intense foreground trees and a very distant faded mountain ''pano''. If you imagined those light colour mid ground trees in between, they''d fit perfectly. Lighter then the foreground, but still darker then the background mountains.
