Hi all
One of our members is having this problem in TW08: ---------------------------------------------------
In TW08, after I hit a sand shot, instead of seeing sand flying in the air I see these low resolution blocks appearing (I suppose representing each particle of sand). The same applies when I hit out of the rough as well with blocks flying instead of grass blades. This happens on all courses I play - stock and downloaded. All other graphics in the game are perfect.
I've tried a myriad of graphics settings within the game... and always with no correction.
My resolution for the game is 1920 x 1080. I'm running on Windows 10 using a GTX-1660 SUPER graphics card.
Funny thing is that I also have TW07 on my system running at 1920 x 1080 and when playing this version, no problems!!! |

Not sure this will solve the problem, but worth to try:
On main screen of TW08, go to: Options....Graphics....and set Graphics to: Manual settings Now set shader level: Low ( or medium ) |

Did you try to run TW08 in compatibility mode ?
Go to the TW08 start icon you start the game with. Right click TW08 icon, and choose: Compatibility Now check box: Run this program in compatibility mode And in the box below it choose: XP(service pack 3) And hit: Apply |

Hi Gunpower.
I have it running in Windows XP service pack 3. I tried service pack 2, system and application DPI settings for each... to no avail.
Thanks for the suggestion. |

Do you now what driver version you are using for your graphics card GTX-1660 SUPER ? Sometimes the older drivers are working better for TW08 ? Nvidia has DCH drivers ( new generation drivers ) Or you can choose: Standard drivers ( drivers from 2021 and older ) On link below you can do an advanced driver search for your nvidia card. ( you can choose DCH drivers....or standard drivers ) When you are currently using a DCH driver, then you can try maybe a standard driver )
https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us#
Note: When you decide to try another driver:
write down the driver number you are currently using ( so you can reverse back to it when needed ) |

Thanks Gunpower. I'll download the oldest standard driver available for starters.
I'll let you know how I made out. |

Hi Gunpower.
Unfortunately, the 2021 standard GPU driver for the GTX-1660 didn't work out...but thank you for the suggestion.
Anyone else out there want to chime in? Thanks in advance. |

Hi Quietly.
I have a 2017 HP Pavilion and as far as I can remember I've always had this problem in TW08. This PC has used various graphics cards since 2017 (GT-1030, GTX 1650 SUPER and the current GTX 1660 Super).
I also have TW06 and TW07 installed on this system running at 1920 x 1080 and they both run with NO sand or rough graphics problems... go figure! |
