Can anyone recommend a Golf Game that will play using Windows 10 please. I still cannot get TW08 to play and have decided not to bother with it.
Thanks. |

Here are a few ideas to get TW08 play on a Win 10 PC. (AND, you need to have the original install DVD inserted into a built-in or USB connected CD/DVD reader.)
0. Right-click on the desktop shortcut for TW08 to see the Properties Menu. Click on Compatibility. Check the box for "Disable fullscreen optimizations".
1. If the game starts up with a black screen (you may hear the soundtrack of a short video), try pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete (at the same time). This will bring up the Task Manager menu. Then select the Task Manager option. Then in the Task Bar at the bottom of the screen, try clicking on the icon for TW08. This works for me in TW06 and TW08.
2. If the game chokes when trying to load a course, then experiment with all the possible Video Modes in the OPTIONS Menu.
3. AND, now I use the /NOINTRO command in the Target command line in my Desktop Shortcut for TW2008.

Thank you for this but unfortunately the problem is still there. I have decided I will not bother trying anymore.
Thanks again. |

I thought I might weigh in on this topic, here are my thoughts first, TW 08 was never meant to run on anything past Windows XP maybe Vista but definitely nothing beyond those two operating systems. Secondly I have tried almost all golf games for consoles and PC and I always come back to TW 08 for many reasons.I have read so many work rounds to run TW 08 on Windows 10 , seems like a lot hoops to jump through if you ask me. I have a simple fix for this situation either partition your hard drive or drop in another drive install XP and no more problems. There many benefits to dual booting.I have a very simple desktop set up with two drives one for Windows XP and a second for Linux (Kunbuntu). This setup works perfectly for me , no work around needed.
