I know the answer is probably here somewhere but I can't find it.
Has anyone tried playing 2008 courses in 2006? Is it possible? |

Hello Bobby, not sure, but i think it should be possible, since the TW08 custom courses are created with CA06.
But the panos won t show up perfect in TW06, since TW08 panos are different then TW06 panos, but not a big problem i think.
One important thing: you will need to have the TW08 stock libraries installed in TW06 ( TW08 stock libraries are not available for download on the site ).

I was able to play 06 / 07 courses in TW 08 some years ago when I had to import these courses in 08 to be able to create a new career. Importing in 06 should be possible, but not recommended: TW06 has no widescreen support and the trick to make TW08 widescreen doesnt work in 06.
The method - if it works! - would be:
Install TW08, install TW06. You need CL Setup 06.
Go in the Courses folder of 08 and make Zip files with the courses you want to import to 06, use CL Setup 06 to import them.
If the above works then OK, if not you need the 06 Career Editor:
You will have to adjust the registry entries for TW06 and use the Career Editor 06 so the new courses will load right. Both the courses and their Libraries must be pointed correctly in the registry. On my system these entries are located at:
Courses:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\EA Sports\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 06\Courses\...
Libraries:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\EA Sports\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 06\Libraries\...
It has been some years, but I think to remember that the 06 Editor will do that for you if you create a career in 06 with the new courses. |

Update, Pat was right with the pano. I think what I will do is reupload my courses for 2006 with the 08 stock libraries (gasp!) but new panos.
We'll see how that goes. |
