I purchased an IPS 1080p monitor to capture my videos in and it just doesn't seem to be doing that much better than my old screen captured in 720p. I put it up on my 52" tv and there seems to be little difference and in some respects the old 720p looks a little better.
I need some feedback as to what may be the issue here. I am rendering at the higher 1440p setting and will test that to see if that is the issue or not, but need your feedback.
You can view the difference in the last two golf videos on my YT channel here https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBE4-HENrBgx9HkRRtP8lZ05t30_aH6be.

See, that's what has me frustrated. It looks great on my monitor but when I upload to YT it looks like garbage. I just spent over $300.00 on upgrades (case, MOBO, PSU and monitor) and a trained eye can't tell the difference. The last video was captured on my new monitor (IPS 1920x1080)and the previous was on the old monitor at 1600x900 scaled by OBS to 1280x720. This has me a little disappointed.

The new monitor has a pop-up (lasts about 5-6 seconds) during the menus that the current resolution is 1024x768 and during the game the pop-up says that the current resolution is 1680x1050. I understand about the menu options being smaller, but I'm more concerned about the in-game resolution not being 1920x1080. Doesn't really utilize my new monitor correctly. That can't be normal.

I try to emulate the settings of a guy named Jack Fraggs on YT at /www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVzycg3Q1Rc. He has since moved from shadowplay to OBS and it looks great. He edits/renders in Sony Vegas and I have it's little brother Movie Studio Platinum, but I don't see that making the difference.

I've installed the Universal Wide Screen fix talked about on this site, but it doesn't do the trick.

Any thoughts or solutions that you can think of?

Hiya Kelly, i am not a specialist, and i am not sure this will help you,
but there some good tips about: Sony Movie Studio 13 (Platinum) - Best Render Settings for YouTube
