From one day to the next, only the original courses are listed in the Caddie lists and when I open the game. Nothing changed, except if Win 10 downloaded something that suddenly interferes with the program. I was running Win 10 for 2 months and the game and the Caddie ran fine, and then one day it didn't.
I've followed Gunpower 61's recommendations regarding the admin settings and they seem to be ok. After that, I don'k know what to try. Any one else had this problem and if so, did you find a solution other than installing the downloads all over again? |

Hiya, can you still play all installed custom courses in TW08 ? When you can still play the courses, try to uninstall TWCaddie08, and reinstall TWCaddie08, and look if the custom courses are back in TWCaddie08. |

I uninstalled and re-installed a new Caddie and it's the same. Only the original courses and files are listed. |

Additionally, through the directory I selected 'run as administrator' when in the properties of the icon as you suggested, but, through the short-cut on the desktop that's not selected and I can't change it. |

Maybe the option to run as administrator on desktop is greyed out ? When it is greyed out, it usually means your User acount control in win10 is set to: Off ( UAC = off ) Normally with UAC = OFF then TWCaddie08 will run automatic as administrator, but maybe something went wrong. I think it is worth to try to set UAC one or two notch higher from bottom, after that you should be able to run the TWCaddie08 shortcut on desktop as administrator. Below is some help how to change UAC settings: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3577-user-account-control-uac-change-settings-windows-10-a.html |

Thank you Gunpower61,
The User account settings were already on the 3rd of 4 setting from the bottom, but, I went one higher. It made no difference. The Advanced Properties window to select Run as Administrator is still greyed-out.
I suspected it may have been the latest MS Win 10 update, from Sept. 30, KB3194496, and uninstalled it. That didn't change anything either.
Hoping you have another idea up your sleeve.

Yes, there was a problem with KB3194496 windows update, it was a corrupt update: Microsoft released a fix for that, not sure you will have to install it:

I expect it will re-download and I won't be able to stop it running again, even if I wanted to. But, this time it may be fixed. Though, I think the damage has been done and Caddie 08 has been compromised. Further research hasn't netted me any now ideas, but I'm looking. |

Resorted to the old fashioned way of just re-installing the downloaded files and the game seems to be working. No thanks to Microsoft, whose update came back like a bad smell and had to be installed. Though, this time it didn't leave a trail of damage ( I think ).
Thanks Gunpower61 for your help. |
