I'm in need of some help here. I've been running TW2008 on Win 7 with no problems at all for some time. I can also install courses and libraries with no issues. I'm trying to install a couple other older games, specifically Medal of Honor Allied Assault and Call of Duty to play them again. Neither of them will run on Win 7. I've researched the internet for a solution but have not been successful. I've tried the compatibility settings, updated drivers, installed with antivirus turned off, installed in different directories etc etc but with no luck.

I hope you don't mind, but I thought I'd reach out to this community so see if anyone could offer some help or point me to a solution. As I said I've been able to run TW2008 as well other older programs as Links 2003, MS Flight Sim 10 with no problems. But no luck at all with Call of Duty or MOHAA.

I have an HP Pavillion 9505f with intel core 2 quad processor with GEforce GT610 graphics card.

Any help would be most appreciated!

Thank you,

It was probably a recent W7 update that''s the culprit. My guess is that this is the problem.... check the first few responses for the probable solution:

Do you get the buffer overrun error with Call of Duty or black screen or does the installation fail? Medal of Honor Allied Assault requires a few things to do, when you face certain errors.

Without more details it's hard to tell what is causing the problems.

Hey folks,

Thanks for the responses! actually the W7 update issue that daflyboys sent me in the other post fixed the issue! MOHAA runs fine and I was able to install the expansion packs and run them with no problem at all.

Call of Duty now installs properly, whereas it didn't finish installing before. Now when I run it, it starts to load then quits. It says video card may be missing one for more features to run COD. I have to dig into it a little more; I have an NVidia GForce GT610 card. Any thoughts on this one? I had done a clean install of my graphics driver from the original graphics card cd; maybe I'd better check into a driver update first...

Found the issue with COD. Some of the research into possible solutions suggested putting a file called "opengl32.dll" in the game directory, which I had done. I removed this file and the game now works..all is good now.
