I just found out through another forum that you can trade in your retail dvd key code for a steam version of the game.
What would be the pros and cons of such a situation? I would hope that you would be able to add all these neat courses that get developed and all the mods too......

Thoughts?

Show us a link to the deal, as far as I know steam do not have this game, I do not think the DVD code is worth any thing any way, it is not like a First Person Shooter where codes are resold due to Bans by Anti cheat protection like Punk Buster , because PB will ban your DVD code.
Theres lots of scammers out there trying to get control of your steam account which potentially could be worth a lot of money via the amount of games purchased on steam.

The Aimbot and Wall hack coders make lots of money from this on games like Battlefield 2, 3 and so on
read these links and it will shock you

There have been 377 ban(s) in the past 30 days. < this means people are out to buy a new DVD key for the shooter they have been banned from.
I `am not saying for one minute The DVD code from TW 2008 will work on other games btw.

Plus a steam version of the game ? if it exists means you would need a steam account

OK, seems to be a false alarm. Steam doesn't carry EA games, or so I have been told elsewhere. I just thought there might be a way to avoid having to purchase the game only to have it break, scratch, dent, chip or rust (oh, nix the last one), but you get the picture.........

I personally do not like Steam as it is too intrusive and tries to run the PC. I had it when I played Football Manager and it seemed that my PC was forever downloading Updates for Programmes that I had not got installed. I deleted the Game and Steam and will not install it again.

I tend to agree with you there. That was going to be one of my cons. It seems steam is always taking up resources on my PC as well. I turned it off but haven't got as far as deleting it yet.

Steam...yuck...however I play Elder Scrolls V Skyrim which you need Steam to download some crap content. But that being said...you can set Steam so you can play games OFFLINE. I have done this since Half-Life 2. Just be carefull when you close out the game(back to desktop) the Steam Icon will still be in the system tray at the bottom of your desktop. So if you forget and do not EXIT out(close ICON). Then go online it Will try/start to download crap. I do not playing anything online any longer !!! Hope this help !!!!

Gotta be a scam. No reputable company would ask you for your game install code as these companies know that those are the very things that unlock a game for use. Sounds as fishy as someone asking you for your bank acct. no.
