Help! I have been interested in playing Augusta on my PC for years but could not find a pC version. I stumbled on this site, joined and tried to start a download but got messages in red indicating the zip file is to big apparently for my laptop. Then the message said I could delete certain libraries so it would fit. I am 69 and am basically computer illiterate except for using e-mail and my Tiger Woods game. Can someone help me with the installation and explain, if it installs ok how will it show up the next time i insert the disc to play the game. Anxiously waiting to be able to play Augusta!

You need to Tell Gunpower61 the Admin here your Computers Operating system , I have Windows 7 for example / 64 bit
You down load the TW Caddie tool this installs courses for you there are 2 versions of the TW Caddie 32 bit or 64 bit.
The My Zip file to down load a large file/ course , you need to make a small donation to get that feature, Once downloaded the TW Caddie installs all files to the correct game folders.
It is possible to down load courses without the MyZip feature , but you still would need the correct TW Caddie for your Computer, the link to the forum tutorial is here http://www.coursedownloads.com/forum/posts.asp?post=9269&forum=11 |

westernone... You are trying to download a zip file containing all the files together, that is why you are getting a message about the file being too big. Instead, click on each separate course/library file, and download each file individually. After that, install the files one at a time using the TW 08 course installation tool. |

I received a message from Westernone with some questions, i will post some help here:
Hello Dennis, Welcome to the site. Yes we have an automatic installer TWCaddie 08. With that installer you can install TW08 custom courses in TW08 game. When you installed Augusta successfully, then you can just start TW08, same way as you started it before. After that go to: Game modes.....Custom game, and in the courses list you should find Augusta.
Some detailed help below:
----When you are using XP just follow steps below: Go to TWCaddie08 download page on link below:
http://www.coursedownloads.com/extras/category.asp?id=1&gameid=11
Or on top of Coursedownloads go to section: Utilities.....utilities and files for TW08....Course installation files
On that page you will see 2 download links:
TW Caddie 08 v1.5
TW Caddie 08 x64 Beta
You have to download this one: TW Caddie 08 v1.5
When TWCaddie08 zipfile is on your PC, the first thing you have to do is to extract or unzip that file. ( You need a program like 7zip or winzip to do that) When you don t have a zip program then you can download winzip trial version, click on the text below:
http://www.winzip.com/win/en/downwz.html
( just click on the green box: download winzip now .......and after that choose: Run )
So after that right click on the TWCaddie08 zipfile on your pc, and in the popup list go to: Winzip....and choose extract here. When extracted or unzipped, you should see a file: Setup.exe Dubble click the file Setup.exe, and TWcaddie08 will be installed on your pc. When you installed TWCaddie08 correct, then you will see a TWCaddie08 icon on your desktop.
----When you are using Win7 or Win8 or Vista just follow steps below: Help below is for Win7 but also works for Win8 and Vista:
First you have to know you have win7 32..... or win7 64 installed on your PC:
On your desktop go to: Start....Control panel...system and security...and click: System ) There you will find you have win7 32bit or win7 64 bit ( Most people are using win7 64bit )
When you found out you have Win7 32bit or Win7 64bit, go to TWCaddie08 download page on link below:
http://www.coursedownloads.com/extras/category.asp?id=1&gameid=11
Or on top of Coursedownloads go to section: Utilities.....utilities and files for TW08....Course installation files
On that page you will see 2 download links:
when you have win7 32.... download this one: TW Caddie 08 v1.5
when you have win7 64... download this one: TW Caddie 08 x64 Beta
Important step: Right click on the TWCaddie08 icon on your desktop, and choose: Properties....on top choose: Compatibility.....and on bottom check box: Run as administrator...and hit: Apply
When you installed TWCaddie08, it is good idea to sync your libraries, this way Coursedownloads will know what libraries you already have installed: Open TWCaddie08....on top go to: Options......Coursedownloads.com....Sync MyLibraries Now add your coursedownloads password and username.....and hit: Start
-----How to install Courses ( for XP, Win7, Win8 and Vista): 1.The easiest way is to use the create myzip feature: When you found a course to download: Just click on Create myzip.... and it will start to create your zipfile After that choose open.....and TWCaddie08 will install all required libraries and courses in TW08 game. Another option is to save the myzip file on your pc. After that dubble click the saved myzip file on you PC, and TWCaddie08 will install all required libraries and courses in TW08 game. ( Note: To start, try to install a course that is not using many libraries, try the course Augusta maybe ) ( The last 2 released TW08 courses are using +20 libraries, and as newcomer you might receive an error when you use the create myzip feature )
2. Another way is to download the course and all required libraries separate: Go to the course that you want to download.....on right side you will see a list of required libraries. The libraries with a red X are libraries you didn t download before. Click one a library (librarytext) with a red X, and download it to a location on your PC, for example download it to a folder on your desktop. Do the same for allother libraries that are marked with red X. After that on your desktop open TWCaddie08....and choose: Install On next popup screen you will have to browse to the downloaded libraries zipfiles. When you found one dubble click it and TWCaddie08 will install it in TW08. Do this with all libraries you downloaded separate. After that on the coursedownloads page, left side you will see the course download link: Coursedownloads.net Dubble click it, and download the coursefile to your pc, and also install it with TWCAddie08, same way as you installed the libraries. |
