When I went golfing in real life, I never enjoyed myself I paid $65.00 for less then 9 holes each time and was kicked off the course once for taking more than 5 minutes on the second hole . I think that golfing in real life is a waste of hard earned cash unless all day access actually exsists for young newbies like me. what your thoughts on this. This is why I play video golf. my question today is is there any golf course out there that a newbies like me won''t kicked and you don''t have a tense shot clock? I always thought that golfing was meant to be enjoyed |

I quit real golf a couple decades back around the time clubs stopped allowing me on their courses while wearing my blue jeans, lol. Now if I want to walk for a couple of hours, I step outside and head to the beach. Much easier on the pocketbook. |

We used to go on Public courses very early morning before the shop opened ,were some 6 or 9 holes infront of any one else when the shop opened, the shop was right behind the 9th green so we missed that hole out, never ever payed a green fee ,lots of courses here in the uk / lancashire area have closed and lots more are struggling to keep open |

Gosh man, I hope you mean you did that when you were a kid, lol. My brothers and I did that a few times when we were 9-10 years old. But then a round of golf was 75 cents back then so it was easier and less tense to just pay the fee. |

it was in 1984 we had a 16 week spell of glorious weather,up at 5 on 1st tee by 5.30am :) some times even got away with playing a 5 ball, the course had a lot of peat under the fairways and did actually have some fires going under the fairways. btw we played Monday / Wednesday & Friday lol never paid once. as regards the other post, yes lots of courses have closed, golf is not dying its just the fact that the Lancashire / greater manchester area has more courses per square mile than any where,on some newer courses ,pay and play type 3 or 4 bad winters has done for them,no money going in the till. |

Links, what state do you live in? Around here (Cleveland) you can walk 9 holes for approximately $10-15 on a local municipal course. Pace of play is usually pretty slow. If you play the better courses it's more expensive and they have higher expectations of dress and pace but not on courses designed for newer golfers. |
