Does anyone know if I will have issues with Tiger Woods if I upgrade to Windows 10? Is anyone running Windows 10 and playing golf? |

Hiya, one of our members tested TW08 and TWCaddie08 on Win10. Looks like you have to do some compatibility settings simular as with Win8, but everything worked. I will wait to upgrade to win10, plenty of time to get it, you have 1 year to get the free upgrade: Windows 10 will be a free upgrade during its first year, if you happen to be running Windows 8.1, Windows Phone 8.1, or Windows 7. Some more info on link below: http://www.coursedownloads.com/forum/posts.asp?thepage=1&post=10188&bm=#47883 |

Actually the problem I'm having is hosting a game. I can play alone or join another game, but I cannot host a game. I get a message telling me the course is already in use. This seems to be related to the Windows 10 OS. If anyone has found a solution to this, please let me know. I have changed everything to open with administrator, tried different versions.....etc etc.......but no luck. I have also tried to go back to Windows 7, but for some reason, my computer saved no information on Windows 7, so I have no back up files. |

If you get the message "Couldn't create the game, the name might already be in use" try the solutions in this thread:
http://www.coursedownloads.com/forum/posts.asp?thepage=1&post=9892
Mdwood's solution: uninstall your network device in the device manager (don't tick the driver remove option) and reboot. If it doesn't work install the loopback ethernet adapter (all infos in the thread). |

FlaCaptain TW08 is NOT compatiable with Windows 10 and neither is Madden 08. Both these PC games are classics. What you must do, is go to your PC Settings\Recovery\Restore Windows 8.1 It will ask you if you are sure? click yes. Then it will have you a reason. Choose not reliable and click ok. It will the go back to your Windows 8.1. Its easy to do.. BTW, I made the same mistake installing Windows 10. Im glad to be back to my Windows 8.1. You'll be too. |

World Wide Market Share of Operating Systems in 2015
I have been strongly advising my clients and fellow gamers to stay away from Windows 10 for as long as their Windows XP, 7, Vista and 8.1 computers keep them happy.
I have Windows 10 installed on a second drive and boot to W10 once a week to download Windows Updates. I want to see if and how the GUI changes over time.
Windows 7 is the last (Classic User Interface) for Windows (at the moment). There are plenty of programs to download that will change the Start Menu to Classic Windows for 8 and 8.1. As for Windows 10, there are two that know of and it seems the more popular one is star10.com by Stardock.
I am in a constant "nag mode" in Microsoft forums to emphasize that Windows 7 should remain the same for Personal non-touch-screen computers. Or perhaps call it Windows 7.1 and keep going along that way for PC users who like the familiar navigation of the system.
I know there are people who like Windows 10 but those people (in general) install a game, find where the .exe shortcut is located and go about their business. The inner workings of the UI are not all that significant to many PC owners.
IT departments around the world are reacting to W10 just as they did with Vista and W8. You will not see any major corporaton using anything other than XP and W7. Why? Because their developers have written tons of programs for serviers and PC Stations that work great with XP and 7. They never expected M$ to make this quantum leap to try and cover all devices with the same OS. (nuts!).
This new concept of Microsoft Windows Development team is just way over the top. Why? Because they need to seperate out the mobile devices operating systems from Personal Computer operating systems.
The home Desktop Computer user and Laptop Gamer might like all these new concepts but not productive Windows users. We move fast when we are on a machine and hitting road blocks with new Grapical User Interfaces along the way makes us very angry.
We tech-heads around the world will favor W7 for years to come. I would not be surprised to see W7 get extended beyond January 2020. XP was suppose to be dead in 2007 yet it got extended to June 2014. XP is still holding strong, imagine that... |

While those games may not be compatible with W10, they will work with W10 if run in compatibility mode just as in W8.1 and W7. Problem is that these games were made pre-W7 and need help to be run on any OS after they came out. I prefer W7 for the ease of use since I am not a programmer, but Crusher makes a lot of sense. I have installed W10 and both games work just fine on my system, which is not a high powered gaming laptop. If my memory serves me I did Cutesybutton's memory fix and everything is working fine. I have to agree with Crusher though that if W7 was a viable option for me, I would probably stay with that for the here and now. |
