I was wondering if there is a bug or something in installing the Pumpkin Ridge course from 07 to 08? I followed Gunpower's instructions on this site and installed all the other courses that I wanted via Caddie08 and they work fine. I can't get PRG to load in the game. I installed all the courses the same way. I don't understand what might be the issue other than Caddie08 keeps using the french .txt file for the course description! Can anyone help me on this?
Thanks |

If you got this course from the TW2007 disc try zipping it up before installing. Then download revised splash screen from here http://www.coursedownloads.com/extras/details.asp?id=685 and replace the existing splash in the course file |

Hello, i installed TW07 stock course Witch Hollow at Pumpkin Ridge in TW08 and it works on my win8 system. There are 3 textfiles in 3 languages , so you have to delete the french and german textfile when you want it in english. But the textfile can t be the problem, maybe your system can t handle the course in TW08 ? Are you sure you also installed the required library Witch Hollow at Pumpkin Ridge. Follow these steps: Open TWCaddie08, and on left side in installed courses list look for the course: Witch Hollow at Pumpkin Ridge Now dubble click the coursename ( dubble click on text ). On next popup you will see the required libraries list: The course is only using one TW07 stock library named: Witch Hollow at Pumpkin Ridge At the right side it must say: True ( when it says False it means the required library is not installed ) When it says True then the course and required library are installed correct. When it still keeps crashing then your system probably can t handle the course.
Important: As Jim said in previous post: Before you install the course, first make a zipfile of the whole course folder that you copied from your TW07 DVD. This way the course and also the required library will be installed in TW08. |

OK,followed the directives here and still can't open the course. Must be my lame laptop. Just strange that I haven't come across a downloaded course that doesn't work yet. Are the stock courses more detailed than the user created courses thus making them bigger? |

Sorry to interrupt this thread , ? but where did you get the course from,? you say { downloaded course } you cannot download that course from this site it is a stock course. I have used this course from the TW 2006 disc , but obviously the splash screen and logo are wrong but it worked ok. Stock courses in TW 08 example Doral is about 99mb ,East Lake 105mb looking at the properties of them on the hdd, custom courses are a lot smaller in size. |

Also the required library is included in the stock course folders, that is why they are much bigger sized. Most stock libraries are big sized (40 to 60 mb ). The coursefiles are mostly around 20 - 30 mb and a bit bigger then the custom courses. When you download a custom coursefile on coursedownloads there are no libraries included and then it will be smaller files. Only when you use the create myzip feature then the libraries that you don t have on your system will be included in the download, in that case you can have a big file. |

argon - I installed PRG from the 07 disc that I have. I will try the 06 disc since I have that as well. The downloaded courses only come from this website. Thanks |

Is the course installing OK but just will not start in the game? Are all the other TW2007 stock course OK? I installed it from my TW2007 disk without any problems. This may be worth trying - When you copy the file from your disk, open it up and remove the French and German course note files. Then zip the file and install. |

Jimbo63 - Yes and Yes. I tried what you suggested and the comments are now in english but the course won't load. It locks up my laptop and I have to start all over again.
Thanks for the try! |

if it played on the same PC in 07 install, it should work in 08, 08 is easier on PCs IMO

I just checked the playability of the 07 version in TW07 on my laptop and it loads fine and plays fine, but when it comes to moving to the next hole it freezes the program. I systematically went through each course and they are all fine and dandy. This one (PRG) is being difficult for some reason. I don't know what to make of it. |

One last try. When you open up the course file that you get from your disk try removing the cls file, this gives you animals, waterfalls etc when you play the course. I think that there was a small waterfall on one of the holes. Zip the course up and install. |

you can also try setting your graphics to low/off for grass and trees, they use the most cpu/graphic resources
but stock courses are usually much less resource intensive than custom ones
you've done the Confidence Folder fix for 08 ?? this needs to be done every time you reinstall a TW game see here for instructions http://www.coursedownloads.com/forum/posts.asp?post=5801
